Ayroor
Ayroor is a small beautiful village spread along the banks of the holy river 'Pamba'- renowned for various socially useful initiatives like the annual 'Hindumatha convention', 'Maramon convention', that happens in the month of February every year. The village is also known as the " Kathakali Gramam" (village of Kathakali dance) where the art of Kathakali, a distinct Indian classical dance unique to Kerala is promoted and taught in the locale by the people. The Kathakali Mela- that too which is conducted for a week, every year, on the Pamba Riverbank, shows the spirit the villagers have, in the art form.
